First Encounters, inspirations

At 5:30 Am in Kodiak Alaska, walking down by the banks of the American river, it is still to dark to be able to see all the shapes of leaves and branches. We were trying to be a little quiet in hopes of seeing some wildlife. All of a sudden my husband whispered and pointed to an area about 8 feet from my feet. there stood a tiny little newborn fawn. It was the smallest little deer I have ever seen, couldn't have been more than a couple of hours old.
The next day on a jog with my sister an entire litter of 7week old golden retriever puppies came running toward us. Separating us was a log which they struggled to get over unsuccessfully. Their little tummies were so full having just eaten. This painting was painted with acrylic paint, aand then oil glazes. The original is 24"x30".It is also available as a 500signed and numbered limited edition print. 1(907)333-0307.
